The 18th Hangover Hike

the 18th Hangover Hike, a challenge event organized by the Irregulars Local Group of the Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA). Here are the details:

• Event Name: 18th Hangover Hike
• Date: Wednesday, January 1, 2025 (New Year’s Day)
• Start Time:
  • Registration from 08:00
  • Mass start at 09:00
  • Late start at 10:00
• Location: The event starts at The Leggers Inn, located at Mill Street, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, WF12 9BD.
• Distances and Routes:
  • Participants can choose from three distances:
    • 21 miles: A brisk walk or run through undulating countryside.
    • 13 miles: A slightly shorter option.
    • 10 miles: Specifically for runners, joggers, and fast walkers.
  • All routes converge at a main refreshment checkpoint, allowing participants to shorten or lengthen their route on the day if they wish.
• General Notes:
  • The entry fee includes tea and toast at the start, drinks and snacks at checkpoints, and a finisher certificate.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own mug.
  • Dogs are allowed if kept under control throughout the event.

  • LDWA Members: £9
  • Non-LDWA Participants: £11
  • On-the-day entry (if available): £15
  • Online entry is available via Sientries.
• Accommodation: There are several accommodations within 20 km of the event, including options in Denby Dale, Golcar, Slaithwaite, and Meltham.
